Captain John M Cox Master Mariner B.Sc. (Maritime Science) has more than 40 years experience in the shipping business, including command of ferries, cruise ferries, and cruise ships. He has also seen service in the Military Sealift Command (MSC) of the United States Navy (USN) as a senior officer.  During recent years, The Maritime Group, Inc., headed by Captain Cox was the General Agent in the United States for Victoria Line, Ltd., a Canadian Crown Corporation. Victoria Line operated the M.V. Royal Victorian (known later as the M.V. Princess Marguerite III) between Seattle, Washington and Victoria, British Columbia. The line was sold to Victoria Clipper in 1999. Captain Cox has also pioneered new ferry routes between Seattle, Washington and other ports in Canada, as well as between the U.S. and Mexico.

He has been involved in a range of consulting assignments that have taken him around the world studying new cruise ship and ferry developments, and consulting with ports in the Pacific Northwest, Asia, and the Caribbean.
He is fully versed in ship management and operations as well as shore-side terminal operations.

Captain Cox is also the former Secretary and Director of the Los Angeles Cruise Ship Terminals, Inc. and President of the Northwest Cruise Ship Association. He maintains contacts with all senior level executives at the major cruise and ferry lines throughout the world. Captain Cox holds a current U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) STCW 2/II, Class 1 Master Mariner (Ocean Steam and Motor Vessels of Any Gross Tons) lisense. As founder of TMG, he brings unmatched depth and breadth of maritime related experience.
